About Us
NAMI Southern Arizona is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI has hundreds of affiliates in all 50 states. We are a non-profit, grassroots organization providing no-cost advocacy, education, and support to all those affected by mental illnesses. Since 1983, NAMI of Southern Arizona has been helping individuals with mental illness and their families. Many of our programs, services and literature are also available in Spanish.

NAMI Southern Arizona devotes its efforts to:
Educating...
Individuals with mental illness, their family members and the public. NAMI of Southern Arizona's ongoing goals are to overcome the ignorance, misinformation, misconceptions and apathy that prevent true understanding and meaningful help from reaching persons with serious mental illness.
Advocating...
For services to which individuals with a mental illness may be entitled and for legislation and funding of programs that will ensure quality community care, housing and services for people with mental illness.
Providing support...
Individually and in group meetings for all those affected by mental illness.

If you or a loved one is struggling with a mental illness, remember - you are not alone.

What is the NAMIWalks?

NAMIWalks is NAMI Southern Arizona's signature fundraiser. The 5k event helps raise the funds needed to offer no‐cost advocacy, education and support programs, as well as expand services to individuals who have mental illness and their loved ones. The event also raises awareness about mental illness, reduces stigma and encourages people with mental illness and their loved ones to find the help they need to lead a fulfilled life that is not dominated by illness and treatment.

In addition to the 5k walk itself the event is a day of fun, with speakers, entertainment, children's activities and a resource fair with 25-30 organizations providing information on mental health and services.
